Jayne Battey, Founder of Miramar Farms
Jayne Battey is the founder and owner of Miramar Farms, a leadership development center located just north of Half Moon Bay, California. For the past six years, Jayne has provided senior leadership coaching and team facilitation for organizations working on environmental, health, housing, education and other critical societal issues. In addition to her work with clients of Miramar Farms, she currently serves on the board of the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board and American Leadership Forum-Silicon Valley. She previously served on the boards of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Youth Outside, and Cabrillo Education Foundation. Prior to starting Miramar Farms, Jayne held executive roles in three organizations-as Director of Land and Environmental Management at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, as Executive Director of Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council, and as founder and President of Essex Environmental. Jayne also spent five years as a facilitator for the Stanford Graduate School of Business Women in Management program. Jayne received her Masters of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and her bachelor’s degree from Boston College. She is certified in the Everything DiSC® and Five Behaviors® leadership curriculum and is a senior fellow of American Leadership Forum.

Georgia Farooq, Executive Director, Thrive Alliance
Georgia Farooq is a passionate nonprofit executive and consultant with experience leading bold change throughout all life cycles of an organization. She has served as Executive Director of Thrive, The Alliance of Nonprofits for San Mateo County, for over four years. Her previous roles include CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside, Director of Education & Training and Senior Consultant for the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership, and Director of the Center for Nonprofit Management at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. She began her career in nonprofits working in development and grantmaking at the Newton Schools Foundation. Georgia is a founding board member for the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network. She also served as a trustee for the Massachusetts 4-H Foundation and board member for the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton. She is on the Advisory Council for Gatepath, an advisor for the SF Urban Film Festival, and a graduate of Leadership San Mateo. Georgia has her M.B.A. from Boston University and a B.A. from Wellesley College.
Alexandra Bastien, Financial Stability Program Officer, Silicon Valley Community Foundation
Alexandra Bastien leads the Financial Stability grantmaking strategy. For over 10 years she has worked toward gender, racial and economic justice. Prior to joining SVCF, Alexandra was Senior Associate at PolicyLink, a national research and action institute dedicated to advancing social and economic equity. In this position, she led a variety of projects including the Employment Equity in Southern States initiative – a project to advance a full employment agenda across the southeast U.S. She also supported local coalitions in cities in the development of policy agendas to advance economic opportunity, led a criminal justice fines and fees portfolio, and managed technical assistance to state and local grantee cohorts focused on asset building policies and programs.
Peggy Jensen, Deputy County Manager, County of San Mateo
Peggy Jensen’s assignments include the San Mateo County Health, Human Resources, Office of Sustainability, Child Support Services, the County’s agile organization, affordable housing, homelessness and a livable wage initiatives. She also sits on the Health Plan of San Mateo's Health Commission, the San Mateo Medical Center Board of Directors and the San Mateo County Library Joint Powers Authority Operations Committee. Peggy joined the County Manager’s Office in 1988 as a budget analyst and in 1993 moved to the District Attorney Office to lead the Family Support Division. In 2000, she was named director of the new Department of Child Support Services. She returned to the County Manager’s Office in to 2007 to take over her current position. Prior to joining the County, she worked as a budget and policy analyst for the states of Vermont and Massachusetts and for a private consulting firm on environmental and housing program evaluation and policy. Peggy has a degree in government from Bowdoin College and a holds a Master’s in environmental planning from the University of Vermont. She is a past president of the Board of Directors of the Service League of San Mateo County and has also served on the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center Advisory Board.
Donna Vaillancourt, California Credentialed County Senior Executive and a Certified Professional Coach
Donna Vaillancourt served as the Director of the Department of Human Resources with San Mateo County until July 2018. During her tenure, she spearheaded new workforce planning and engagement efforts, leadership development and wellness programs to attract and retain talent in a dynamic organization consisting of over 5,500 employees She served in various leadership positions during her 37-year career for San Mateo County including Deputy Director of Public Works. Donna is passionate about helping leaders and organizations succeed and currently provides leadership and career coaching, organizational development consulting and training for various agencies. She has a BS in Human Resources Management, is a California Credentialed County Senior Executive and a Certified Professional Coach. She has served as a board member for several professional organizations including the County Personnel Administrator’s Association of California, the CSAC Institute of Excellence and is currently a board member for CalPELRA. Donna is also an active community volunteer and has served as a board member and officer of the San Mateo Credit Union for more than 20 years and is the advisor to the Key Club of Sequoia High School through Woodside Terrace Kiwanis.
