DACA—the Obama-era remedy providing temporary legal status to undocumented children and youth—is headed back to the U.S. Supreme Court and may not survive. To protect DACA recipients, a group of practitioners and advocates are working on a program to provide DACAmented individuals with permanent legal relief. Please join Zellerbach Family Foundation (ZFF), Grove Foundation, Path2Papers, and Justice Action Center (JAC) for an important webinar on supporting DACA recipients through employment-based immigration remedies.
Sanchez Art Center is hosting the 2024 Left Coast Annual Exhibition in Pacifica, showcasing 55 pieces from a collection of over 1000 entries by artists from Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington. Concurrently, the 2023 LCA Awards Exhibition featuring the work of Tara Daly and Uma Rani Iyli will also be on display. The gallery will be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 1–5 pm, except during special events.

Join Fixin' SMC for an event featuring Judge LaDoris Cordell, a prominent advocate for greater transparency in law enforcement abuses and misconduct. Cordell was the first African American woman judge in northern California and has served as the Independent Police Auditor for San Jose and Vice Provost of Stanford University. She is a frequent guest on CNN, MSNBC, and NPR, and is the author of Her Honor. The event will also feature a spotlight on the REACH Coalition, an organization working towards dismantling systemic bias and advancing justice and equity in San Mateo County. Join Quinteto Latino for an opera that chronicles the life and work of Olga Talamante, a legendary Chicanx leader and LGBTQ+ activist. The opera explores her journey from working the garlic fields as a child in Gilroy, California, to her decades of activism in the US, Mexico, and Argentina, where she became a political prisoner. Ultimately, Olga frees herself from the psychological hold of her captors and releases her heart from 40 years of suppressing the memories of violence perpetrated against her. She finally finds peace and in the process of healing, the love of her life, Vola.

The Redwood City Library Foundation (RCLF) is organizing a spring fundraiser where celebrated local author Jorge Argueta and illustrator Elizabeth Gómez will meet library families in an intimate setting. Commute.org is thrilled to announce the Community Partner Grant Program, a new pilot initiative aimed at collaborating with and supporting up to five Community Partner organizations.
Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, and public entities for their Emergency and Disaster Relief Fund. This fund is designed to provide critical resources during disasters that affect our region, including fires, droughts, earthquakes, flooding, and unforeseen emergency events that may afflict local residents and communities.

Each year, the Coastal Conservancy issues millions of dollars in grants for projects that restore and protect the California coast, expand public access to it, and enhance its resilience to climate change. The State of California has made an unprecedented investment in the resilience and accessibility of the coast. As a result, the Coastal Conservancy has significant funding available to:
nonprofit organizations,
public agencies, and
federally-recognized tribes
for projects that benefit public access, natural resources, working lands, and climate resiliency at the coast, coastal watersheds, and the San Francisco Bay.
Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) distributes 500 emergency housing grants every year to individuals and families in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties so they can remain securely housed. These grants of up to $2,500 bridge the gap between crisis and stability to help pay rent, security deposits, and utility bills.
Community Vision is offering free Rapid Response Technical Assistance to Bay Area and Central Valley arts and culture, direct service, and other community-serving organizations working in disinvested and underinvested communities and communities of color.
