Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (PCRC) is looking for a part-time Restorative Practices Associate to support the East Palo Alto Academy community by fostering a positive and proactive school environment. This role involves working up to 20 hours per week and includes building positive relationships with staff, administration, students, community partners, and families. Responsibilities also include utilizing data to identify and recommend interventions, facilitating conferences, coaching and modeling Restorative Justice circles and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) practices in the classroom, conducting student mediations, and handling administrative duties.

Qualifications
The candidate should have a strong desire to support youth development by developing and leading on-campus programs in collaboration with schools in San Mateo County. Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and appropriate auto insurance are necessary.
Preferred Characteristics of Strong Candidates
Familiarity with San Mateo County and surrounding communities is encouraged.
Formal training in Restorative Justice practices is preferred.
Experience with school intervention programs, behavior management strategies, and community engagement is required.
Being bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred but not required.
The candidate must have strong written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Proficiency in using technology and accessing data to inform interventions is essential.
The candidate should possess professional skills in meeting management, group facilitation, and handling difficult conversations.
A college degree is preferred but not required; a minimum of two years of experience in the Youth Development field is acceptable.
Responsibilities
Build positive relationships with staff, administration, students, community partners, and families. The coordinator will utilize data to identify and recommend interventions, including alternatives to suspension. They will facilitate parent, teacher, and student conferences, hold space for challenging conversations, and respond to crisis situations as needed.
Classroom support involves coaching and modeling best practices for Restorative Justice circles and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). The coordinator will reinforce school-wide rules, policies, and expectations.
Ongoing professional development is essential, as is representing PCRC in the community and connecting with potential partners. The coordinator will also conduct student mediations, facilitate dialogues, and handle administrative duties, including data management and other deliverables, to ensure comprehensive program documentation and reporting.
COmpensation and Benefits
PCRC is prepared to offer a competitive compensation package, which includes the anticipated hourly rate of $28.00.
PCRC has a generous time off policy, which includes 13 paid holidays, four floating holidays, five vacation days, and ten sick days.
