The South San Francisco Education Foundation is seeking an experienced Fundraising and Marketing Consultant who is passionate about the South San Francisco Education Foundation's mission and able to expand and develop the organization. Fundraising and Marketing Consultant will oversee all aspects of the organization's fundraising and marketing. They will engage and manage volunteers and inspire others to engage with the mission. They will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community leaders. They will model and promote the organization's values and culture, setting a high standard for ethical and effective behavior in all interactions.
About South San Francisco Education Foundation
The South San Francisco Education Foundation is a non-profit organization run by the community under the 501(c)3 status. The foundation is in its second year of operations and is rapidly growing to promote equitable access to quality education in the Bay Area. The South San Francisco Education Foundation aims to involve all members of the South San Francisco Unified School District (SSFUSD) community, including students, parents, and educators, in identifying critical student needs, funding, and supporting approaches to ensure students' long-term success.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of experience in educational foundation fundraising, nonprofit fundraising and development, marketing or another related field.
Experience researching, writing, and securing grants.
Strong leadership, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking in front of large groups.
Technical skills required: Google suite, CRM software, social media platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
Familiarity with the South San Francisco community and the South San Francisco Unified School District is an asset.
Knowledge of nonprofit financial management and budgeting preferred.
Preference for a candidate proficient in both Spanish and English.
Responsibilities
Establish fundraising priorities and opportunities, including annual giving campaigns, special events, and grant applications in alignment with guidance from the board of directors.
Pursue grant funding from nonprofit organizations, local governments, and businesses.
Identify and cultivate relationships with high-level donors, foundations, and other potential funding sources, working closely with the Board of Directors and other stakeholders to engage donors and secure sustaining donations.
Develop and implement donor stewardship plans to maintain strong relationships with donors and secure ongoing support, including regular communication, recognition, and engagement opportunities.
Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to increase the organization’s visibility and reach.
Lead the organization’s marketing and fundraising volunteers, providing guidance, motivation, and support to help them succeed in their roles ensuring that all efforts are aligned with the organization’s goals and priorities.
Promote the organization’s initiatives and accomplishments to key stakeholders, volunteers, community partners, and the media to increase awareness and support for the organization’s mission.
Ensure that the organization raises funding to meet its annual goals and expand its mission reach and impact, monitoring progress toward fundraising goals and making adjustments as needed.
COmpensation and Benefits
Estimated compensation: $35-$50/hour depending on experience.
Estimated hours: 10 per week (or 40 per month; flexible), remote with some in-person obligations, by contract with opportunity to extend or increase hours as fundraising targets are met.
