My New Red Shoes: Branding & Communications Officer

My New Red Shoes (MNRS) is seeking an experienced branding and communications professional to guide our organization's current re-branding effort. As a consultant or part-time employee, the Branding & Communications Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing MNRS' re-branding, marketing, and communications plan to enhance MNRS' visibility, promote our mission, and engage stakeholders. The position will work closely with the Executive Director and MNRS' hired Branding Firm to develop and implement a new brand strategy to enhance our visibility and to expand awareness about MNRS's mission, programs, and impact.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in developing and executing branding strategies

  • Experience with social media and digital marketing

  • Creative and strategic thinker

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in graphic design software and digital marketing tools

  • Comfort with managing multiple projects and deadlines

  • Comfort with people from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences

  • Passion for MNRS mission

Key responsibilities

  • Re-Brand Management: 

    • Serves as the point of contact with the Branding Firm for project management, maximizing and supplementing their work. Provides timely responses to requests for information and solicits and consolidates feedback from senior leadership.

    • Leads the Marketing Committee through the branding decision process including building consensus on a new organizational name and accompanying visuals. Communicates decisions with other Board members and key staff.

    • Develops a comprehensive implementation plan and oversees all aspects of the rollout of the new brand strategy to effectively communicate MNRS’ mission, values and impact.

    • Identifies all pre-existing elements to be included in the brand guide, such as key messaging verbiage, and ensures that they are identified in the guide.

    • Undertakes surveys or polls to a diverse group of stakeholders including donors, volunteers, and agency partners.

    • Provides guidance and training to MNRS staff and contractors on branding best practices.

  • Brand Identity Management: 

    • Oversees MNRS’ external-facing messaging, providing guidance to internal teams and supervision of marketing and communication consultants and/or volunteers to ensure brand consistency.

    • Maintains and enhances MNRS’ brand identity including logo, colors, typography and imagery, ensuring consistency across all materials and platforms.

  • Digital Marketing:

    • Oversees all digital marketing efforts including social media campaigns, email marketing, and website content to promote brand awareness and engagement.

    • Supervises digital marketing contractors, interns and volunteers. 

  • Content Creation: 

    • Oversees creation of engaging and compelling content, including copywriting, graphics and multi-media assets to effectively convey messaging consistent with MNRS values. 

    • Produces communications to advance MNRS’ strategic initiatives, programs, advocacy and fundraising campaigns.

    • Supervises content creation contractors, interns and volunteers.

  • Brand Monitoring and Analysis:

    • Monitor brand performance and perception through analytics, surveys, and feedback. Uses insights to refine branding strategies and tactics.

    • Ensures for the alignment of messaging and branding across all communications materials.

Salary

  • $80+/hour commensurate with experience and structure of position. This is a fractional position working 16 to 24 hours a week.
