Justice At Last is seeking a Client Advocate who will be responsible for working with clients to formulate individual case plans that assess for needs and support progress towards stabilization and self-sufficiency. The Client Advocate works with our Attorneys to provide multi-disciplinary services to our clients, and all communications are protected under the attorney-client privilege. They assist in screening and identifying survivors of trafficking, advocating for and connecting clients to community-based resources, and providing trauma-informed, specialized case management services to actively remove barriers in accessing justice for our clients. This position requires thorough knowledge and understanding of human rights as well as strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to serving trafficked persons. Client Advocates employ key social work values, including promoting empowerment, the right to self-determination, and setting and maintaining strong professional boundaries while pursuing a healthy work-life balance.

About Justice At Last
Justice At Last is the only nonprofit law firm in the San Francisco Bay Area exclusively serving the legal needs of survivors of human trafficking, regardless of their age, sex, gender identity, abilities, equity needs, nationality, or type of trafficking. Founded in 2015, Justice At Last provides free legal representation and support services as a mobile practice, meeting clients where they are within their communities and working to make impactful changes in the anti-trafficking field.
The ideal candidate will possess relevant education and experience demonstrating:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Human Sciences, Social Welfare, or relative fields OR 4 years of experience directly related to the responsibilities specified; Master of Arts in an interdisciplinary field, i.e., Social Work, Public Policy, or Public Administration, is preferred.
Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience serving the needs of diverse populations, preferably in a community-based setting serving under-resourced communities.
Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is preferred and will be prioritized.
Maintain a positive, collaborative, and professional approach to working with clients and partners; work effectively in a team-oriented, dynamic work environment.
Ability to de-escalate stressful situations in a trauma-informed manner
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and high degree of organization related to the management of multiple clients, priorities, and projects.
A working understanding of cultural humility as it pertains to working with BIPOC and other historically marginalized/underserved communities is preferred.
Access to a vehicle, insurance, and a valid driver's license, and available to travel throughout the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and other nearby counties as needed.
SALARY RANGE FOR THIS POSITION:
