JobTrain is seeking a facilitator to provide work readiness, financial and digital literacy classes at the Maple Street Correctional Center. The program will be offered over 48 weeks, encompassing 1,056 instructional and program hours. The goal is to help inmates develop a transition/re-entry plan upon their release, covering topics such as goal-setting, barriers and work readiness issues. Additionally, specialized workshops and training will be provided based on specific program or inmate needs.

Qualifications
Experience developing curriculum and delivering training and/or facilitating workshops
Experience teaching/training at HS level or higher
Experience with coaching/counseling HS level or higher
In-depth experience delivering services to underserved populations, experience working with incarcerated individuals, or prior reentry experience preferred
Required Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Understanding of adult training methodology; knowledge of criminal justice system, behavioral science
Comfortable working in a correctional facility
Ability to pass background check with the California Sherriff’s Department
Ability to develop strong relationships with diverse groups of the community population, who may have conflicting interests and opinions.
Ability to maintain strong and appropriate boundaries with personal identifying information when interacting with students, community, or program partners, and while at any school location or community or program partner site.
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, interpersonal communication, computer skills, and ability to express complex ideas with clarity and precision.
responsibilities and tasks
Delivering instruction and coaching to inmates in small or 1-on-1 focused discussions on topics such as goals, barriers, and other work readiness issues, with the goal of developing a transition/re-entry plan to be put into action upon their release.
Providing specialized workshops and training based on specific program needs or inmates' assessed needs, such as computer literacy, focused assessments for vocational training, and introduction workshops focused on specific career trades. - Planning and scheduling program activities as needed.
Delivering instruction on career assessment, career aptitude, job search strategies, cover letters and resume writing, interviewing, work attire and grooming, financial literacy, communication styles, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills, work values/work maturity skills, and digital literacy.
Creating and maintaining a positive and safe learning environment for inmates.
Collecting and maintaining accurate records of inmate participation and progress.
Collaborating with other staff members to ensure a coordinated approach to inmate services.
Participating in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills related to inmate education and re-entry services.
Providing timely and accurate reports to program administrators as required.
salary and benefits
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $29.90 – 35.18/hour or annualized at $46,644 to $54,880.
