CEN is looking for a Leadership Development Specialist to join its team. The specialist will be responsible for running classes, advising clients, and overseeing cohort programs. This position requires individuals with knowledge and experience in non-profit organizations and a basic understanding of non-profit operations and board leadership. Ideal candidates will have extensive non-profit experience and be comfortable leading virtual workshops independently. Successful candidates will also have experience working effectively in a hybrid organization and demonstrate strong self-management skills.

Qualifications
Established understanding of and commitment to IDEAL principles and viewing all aspects of the work of CEN and other nonprofits through an IDEAL lens
Ability to take the initiative, work independently, prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks and projects
A willingness to directly support and contribute to CENs fee for service business model. You won’t participate in sales. Instead, you’ll participate in the recruitment of fee-for-service clientele to meet organizational goals.
Dedication to building high-performing organizations and supporting leadership development in the nonprofit sector
Proven experience in dynamic and engaging in-person and virtual facilitation
Excellent communication skills, with ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work with people of varying backgrounds, personalities, and communication styles at all levels within an organization and beyond
Strong attention to detail
Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, ClickUp (or a similar platform), Harvest (or a similar time management platform). If you don’t have experience with these specific tools, a comfort with and quick ability to learn new tech tools is ok!
Excellent working knowledge of and passion for nonprofit management, leadership development, and governance
Ability to be flexible and contribute effectively to a staff team
Willingness to become a BoardSource certified trainer
Responsibilities
Developing content and providing solo and co-facilitation for CEN's programs (which include but are not limited to workshops, cohort programs, and round tables) and CEN’s consulting engagements (which include but are not limited to strategic planning, board development, coaching, and mentoring) in areas including but not limited to nonprofit governance, leadership, organizational effectiveness, and IDEAL
Preparing proposals for consulting engagements and aiding in the preparation of responses to requests for proposals
Collaborating to create customized offerings and original curriculum
Evaluating programs and surveying participants to ensure quality and continuous improvement
Participating in the recruitment of fee-for-service clientele to meet organizational and departmental financial goals
Participating in CEN fundraising and outreach activities (including but not limited to making calls, sending emails, and utilizing social media) and events to support network growth
Participating in the planning and execution of CEN’s four annually recurring events which take place outside of regular business hours as well as occasional weekend consultations and CEN programming
COmpensation and Benefits
Salary: $90-97K.
PTO: Full-time employees accrue 120 hours each year with a cap of 240 hours and 48 hours of sick pay.
Flexible Schedule: Outside of important department meetings.
Remote Environment: Though willingness and ability to travel throughout the Bay Area for semi-regular client requests to consult onsite.
Paid Rest & Recharge: July 4th week and between Dec 25-Jan 1st
Health Insurance: No waiting period. Eligibility to enroll for benefits is immediate on your first date of hire. Coverage is applicable to self, self plus spouse/domestic partner and children. Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic life, AD&D insurance, FSA, HSA, and supplemental Life available for full-time employees. EAP services available.
401K: Full-time employees are eligible to participate in the 403(b) Retirement Plan after 12 months and 1000 consecutive hours of service in twelve months. CEN will contribute to employees’ plans at the end of the year based on the employee’s years of service.
