Human Investment Project, Inc. (HIP Housing): Home Sharing Coordinator

Human Investment Project, Inc. (HIP Housing) is seeking a Home Sharing Coordinator. The Home Sharing Coordinator has the primary responsibility to interview, screen, and assess the candidacy of clients for the Home Sharing Program, as well as referring potential housemates, placing clients in matches, and providing follow-up support. The Home Sharing Coordinator represents HIP Housing at outreach events in the County in collaboration with the Outreach specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, process, and assess the candidacy of clients who have applied to the Home Sharing program

  • Maintain client information and applications in the Home Sharing database

  • Conduct in-person and/or virtual home visits as needed for interviews, place clients in home-sharing arrangements, facilitate Living Together Agreements, and conduct client mediation when necessary

  • Maintain a caseload of clients interested in living in or providing housing in the County

  • Provide home-sharing referrals, community resource information, and follow-up support to clients

  • Complete monthly and quarterly program data and outreach information for funding reports

  • Represent the organization at meetings, events, and funding hearings

  • Create and maintain networking relationships with service providers in the County to stay current on the services provided and to collaborate on housing and other resources for clients

  • Research and maintain a growing knowledge of socio and economic trends that impact the population served and share with HIP Housing staff

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent writing, interviewing, and public speaking skills

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Conflict resolution, flexibility, and good interpersonal skills

  • Ability to travel throughout San Mateo County and have a valid California Driver’s License and vehicle

  • Strong computer literacy skills. Demonstrated proficiency in using common business software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent

  • Ability to manage workload effectively and efficiently meet set deadlines

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in social service working with diverse populations

  • 2+ years experience in a social services work environment

  • Bilingual in Spanish, Tagalog, or Chinese is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of available community resources and how they work

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer screen

  • Must be able to lift 30-35 lbs

Compensation and Benefits

  • Full-time, non-exempt, at-will, annually reviewed position

  • $57,000-$62,400 annual salary, based on experience

  • This position features the option for alternating Fridays off
