El Concilio of San Mateo County: Administrative Assistant

El Concilio of San Mateo County seeks a full-time (40 hrs a week) Administrative Assistant to provide a variety of assistance to the case management and programs teams, including supporting clients at our drop-in centers, some advocacy and support with systems navigation to ensure clients access the services that they need. The Administrative Assistant will report to the Operations Manager.

El Concilio of San Mateo County (ECSMC) is a non-profit, community-based organization incorporated in 1980 committed to increasing education, employment, and access to quality of life services to underserved communities in San Mateo County. It has responded to the well documented racial and ethnic health and education disparities that include all underserved, low-income, non/limited English speaking communities through its programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide office assistance and front desk service at our Redwood City site, including

  • Greeting clients and helping them sign in and/or make appointments.

  • Manage phone calls, take messages, review voicemails and assist with organizing mail correspondence and deliveries.

  • Office Supplies: Organize and keep track of office supplies to ensure that necessary materials are available to staff

  • Work 1:1 with clients to determine the type of services they need

  • Provide direct information, referrals and assistance to residents in essential areas that include health and mental health, housing needs, food insecurities and job loss.

  • File/Data Management: Organize and maintain office files and documents. Support case management team with client data entries and data management, as needed.

  • Participate in events, informational booths, and create and deliver presentations in preferred languages as needed

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor;

Qualifications

  • Two years of equivalent work experience working with families providing case

  • management or related outreach, advocacy or social services;

  • Strong organizational and time management skills;

  • English proficiency; Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred;

  • Working knowledge of local resources in San Mateo County

Compensation

  • Compensation: $20-$22/Hr + Benefits
