The City of San Mateo is looking for eligible agencies interested in partnering with the City to provide a program and services that will directly benefit individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness in San Mateo through housing financial assistance, case management, and supportive services.

San Mateo County Health’s CCCS Racial Equity Action Subcommittee is seeking competitive quotes from qualified organizations to develop, administer, and implement a pilot Civic Empowerment Training Program with a particular focus on those from underserved communities, youth ages 15 – 25, and young adults. The organization will need to have a deep focus and expertise in racial equity, youth development, civic empowerment, and policy and systems change strategies.

NOVAworks & SAMCEDA, in partnership with the San Mateo County COVID-Recovery Program, are offering a paid work experience program for up to 30 San Mateo County residents who have lost their jobs or lost work hours due to COVID-19.

Stanford Alumni Consulting Team (ACT) is offering free consulting services to nonprofit organizations. Stanford ACT will match teams of Stanford Graduate School of Business alumni volunteers with nonprofits with high priority strategic needs such as scenario planning, financial planning, strategic planning, marketing, and operations.

One Life Counseling Center is offering free MP3 players with custom playlists to members of the community with memory loss symptoms. These customized playlists are designed to increase memory cues in the brain and bring some sunshine into lives though music.

Hosted by Urban Habitat, the Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute (BCLI) is a unique, free training program that supports residents (including youth) from low-income communities of color who are committed to advancing social justice, to serve on a public board or commission in their community. This six-month program helps participants to: 1) understand the local decision-making and policy process, 2) navigate the culture and language of commissions, and 3) it provides participants with individualized support throughout their commission service. Sustainable San Mateo County (SSMC) is now accepting nominations for its 2021 awards program, which honors those who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to sustainable practices. Sustainability Award nominations may be made in five categories: individuals, nonprofits, businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies. SSMC will celebrate the 2021 awardees at its 22nd annual Awards Celebration in 2021.

In addition, SSMC is accepting nominations for its 19th annual Green Building Award, which it cosponsors with the San Mateo Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

The County of San Mateo’s Office of Sustainability, in partnership with San Mateo County’s Office of Education, Peninsula Clean Energy, and Citizens Environmental Council of Burlingame, has launched a new youth climate change leadership program for 9th-11th grade students who live or go to school in San Mateo County.

Peninsula Clean Energy is providing first-time electric vehicle buyers in San Mateo County a rebate of $1,000 towards the cost of a new fully electric vehicle (EV), and $700 for a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) purchased between Oct. 1 through Dec. 31.

Peninsula Clean Energy is also providing San Mateo County residents the opportunity to experience driving an EV with a $200 rebate toward the rental of an EV, and assistance in setting up at-home or at-dealership test drives.
