EPACANDO & Pahali CLT: Community Land Trust Project Manager

EPACANDO & Pahali CLT is looking to hire a Community Land Trust Project Manager. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Director and team members to plan and advance a variety of engaging and challenging CLT projects, as outlined in the Additional Desirable Skills and Experience section below. This position encompasses a wide range of tasks and topics, and it is designed to serve as a career path leading to roles such as program manager, program director, and ultimately executive director.

About EPACANDO & Pahali CLT:

The East Palo Alto Community Alliance Neighborhood Development Organization (EPACANDO) is committed to creating affordable housing and fostering community and economic development in East Palo Alto. For over thirty years, EPACANDO has focused on anti-displacement efforts by co-developing permanently-affordable rental housing—delivering 450 apartments—and supporting residents in achieving and maintaining homeownership. Collaborating with the City government, EPACANDO's initiatives include buying and renovating a 15-unit apartment complex, preventing displacement through foreclosure interventions, providing housing counseling, and sustaining a community land trust.

Responsibilities

  • Project management: planning, executing, expediting, troubleshooting, reporting, coordination

  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, clients, community organizations and public officials

  • Strong facilitation skills; experience with cooperative, consensus-based decision-making

  • Effective written and oral communication; good listener; clear communicator

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish

Qualifications

  • Community outreach, engagement, advocacy, especially related to housing projects or policy

  • Organizational development both internal and external such as coalition/trust building • Staff development and management

  • Membership development and member relations

  • Establishing and maintaining an effective social media presence • Website content management

  • Revenue development and grant writing

  • Generic administrative skills: contracts, editing, record-keeping

  • Fluent use of software applications relevant to the position

  • Relevant academic degree(s)

  • Experience working in and/or with public agencies and/or public-interest non-profits

  • Promoting racial and social equity; community empowerment; anti-displacement

  • Familiarity, connection, commitment with/to the East Palo Alto community

Compensation

  • Commensurate with experience
