Santa Clara County Supervisor Simitian and the City of Mountain View: $100 A Day – Documentary Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian and the City of Mountain View invite the community to attend a free documentary film screening of $100 A Day and a panel discussion about wrongful conviction. Attendees will hear from a panel of policy and legal experts who will discuss wrongful incarceration and updates to public policy since the 2003 passage of Assembly Bill 1302.

Authored by Simitian when he was in the California State Assembly, the legislation provided expedited compensation to Rick Walker, a man wrongly convicted of a crime he didn't commit, and for which he was imprisoned for more than a decade. He spent the remainder of his life working to support individuals who were wrongfully incarcerated through advocacy and changes in public policy.

Note: This event is suggested for people 12 years and above due to the subject matter, though anyone can attend.
