Sanchez Art Center: Open Studios at Sanchez Art Center
More than two dozen local artists invite you to visit their studios and see their work at Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica. The 2023 Coastside Weekend of Silicon Valley Open Studios (SVOS) event is Saturday, May 6, and Sunday, May 7, with extended open hours of 11:00 am and 5:00 pm. Meet with artists in studios and galleries to learn about their artistic practice and methods and browse (and buy) art by local professional artists in a variety of media including painting, printmaking, photography, collage, assemblage, fiber/textiles, mixed media, jewelry, and more.
This is a great chance to explore what Sanchez Art Center is about, especially if you haven’t visited before. Feel free to ask questions and get to know the artists. Learn about the inspirations and techniques they rely on, the tools and materials they use, how they began making art, and what keeps them creating. This annual event is educational for everyone—and it’s really fun.
During Open Studios, all three galleries will be open to the public, presenting the 2023 Left Coast Annual Juried Exhibition in the Main and West Galleries, and the 2022 LCA Awards Exhibition in the East Gallery featuring the work of prominent SF Bay Area Artists Ric Ambrose and Tamera Avery. Both of these exhibitions will run through Sunday, May 21.
Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd in Pacifica, about a mile east of Highway 1 in the building behind the beautiful mural. Parking is free (if the lot is full, utilize available street parking). Regular gallery hours during exhibits are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1–5 pm, and by appointment.
