Redwood City Library Foundation: Meet Children's Book Author and Illustrator Team
The Redwood City Library Foundation (RCLF) is organizing a spring fundraiser where celebrated local author Jorge Argueta and illustrator Elizabeth Gómez will meet library families in an intimate setting. They will debut their book “Bilingüe, Superhéroe / Bilingual, Superhero,” which sheds light on an important theme: speaking more than one language is a superpower. During the event, they will discuss how a children's book evolves from concept to publication.
To attend the event, you need to buy a ticket, which costs $40 and covers up to 4 seats. Reservation is required as the event has limited seating. Additionally, the ticket price includes a link to stream the feature-length documentary film "Story and Pictures By” (a film by Joanna Rudnick) either before or after the event. The film takes audiences behind the scenes to meet the boundary pushers who create children’s picture books. Excerpts from the film will be shown at the event.
