Join us for our First Annual Nonprofit Career Summit & Job Fair! Thrive, The Alliance of Nonprofits for San Mateo County (Thrive), in partnership with the College of San Mateo (CSM) and CEN, invite you to join us for the first annual Nonprofit Career Summit & Job Fair. Many of our member nonprofits have been seeking new talent within their organizations in recent months. 

All participants will enjoy free access to the Career Summit Keynote Speaker, Breakout Sessions, and the exhibitor job fair which are all located in Building 10, Bayview Room at the College of San Mateo.

Beth Kanter
Master Trainer, Author, and Speaker

Keynote learning topics:

  • Learn about the  symptoms of burnout and opportunities to practice self-care as part of doing your work
  • Discuss and share tips and methods for self-care activities that go beyond physical health
  • Ideas for practicing self-care in the nonprofit workplace and creating a culture of wellbeing

Beth Kanter is a well-established international leader in nonprofits’ use of networks, data, and learning.  Her first book “The Networked Nonprofit,” introduced the sector to a new way of thinking and operating in a connected world.  Her second book, “Measuring the Networked Nonprofit,” is a practical guide for using measurement and learning to achieve social impact.   She published her third book “Happy, Healthy Nonprofit:  Strategies for Impact without Burnout” in 2016.    She is the author of Beth’s Blog where she writes about networks, data, learning, training and facilitation techniques and self-care, one of the longest running and most popular nonprofit blogs.  (www.bethkanter.org)
 
Beth has over 35 years working in the nonprofit sector in technology, training, and capacity and has facilitated trainings for nonprofits on every continent in the world (except Antarctica).  She trained and experienced in participatory facilitation techniques such as design thinking, open space, and world café online and face-to-face book and hybrids.  She is an in-demand keynote speaker and workshop facilitator.   Named one of the most influential women in technology by Fast Company and one of the BusinessWeek’s “Voices of Innovation for Social Media,” Beth was visiting Scholar at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation 2009-2013. 

BREAKOUT SESSIONS

Breakout sessions will address nonprofit recruitment challenges and nonprofit career development.  This is a great opportunity for new job seekers and is FREE to attend.

*Nonprofit organizations booth attendees and participants will have access to keynote speakers and breakout sessions. Breakout sessions are located in the exhibitor's job fair which is located in Building 10, Bayview Dining Room at the College of San Mateo.

Thrive has partnered with CSM to further expand nonprofit outreach capabilities by connecting our membership community with local talent.

Thanks to the charitable contribution by our sponsor, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, job fair booths are being offered at a subsidized rate to all Thrive and CEN members for $75.00 or $125.00 for non-members. This Nonprofit Career Summit & Job Fair is a great opportunity to highlight your organization’s presence within San Mateo County and present your current and future openings to a very diverse audience. The Nonprofit Career Summit is expected to attract hundreds of individuals from across different segments of the community.

1. Your nonprofit organization must be recruiting to fill at least one salaried or internship position within your organization.
2. You must have at least 1 staff member at the booth at all times.
