HLC Happy Hour & Housing 101 Training

Join the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County ("HLC") for drinks, snacks, and a brief training on how to advocate for affordable homes in your community. We will answer questions such as: What is affordable housing? Who qualifies for affordable housing? Why don't we have enough affordable housing in San Mateo County?  This fun and informative event is perfect for newcomers and a great way to meet other people in your community interested in building a more inclusive community. We want to ensure that everyone who works here, lives here, or grows up here can obtain a suitable home!

Each year, more and more of our neighbors are being displaced from their homes. Without adequate housing near their jobs, Bay Area employees must commute long distances to work, worsening congestion and air quality for our communities. But it doesn't have to be this way! We're working hard with communities and their leaders to build and preserve quality affordable homes, especially near public transportation. The only way we can do that though is by including voices like yours.
