Since 1956, the Giving USA report has been an important source of data on philanthropic trends for nonprofit organizations across the nation. In this session, guest speaker Chelsey Souza will discuss the Giving USA report and implications of the pandemic and social justice movements, and review strategies for stewarding donors virtually and techniques for engaging board members in fundraising.

Chelsey Souza, President & Owner, CFRE Essex & Drake Fundraising Counsel
Chelsey Souza is known for her philanthropic development expertise, enthusiasm for ethical fundraising, and keen ability for inspiring volunteers. Drawing on her 20 years of experience as a nonprofit staff member and consultant, Chelsey provides effective consulting services and manages her firm specializing in individual giving focused programs. Chelsey currently serves on the Advisory Council of the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy and is a volunteer Expert Advisor for the Gratitude Network. She also serves on the Scholarship Committee for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Silicon Valley Chapter. In 2002, Chelsey completed Fundraising School through the Center on Philanthropy at University of Indiana, and in 2008 received a Certified Fundraising Executive credential from CFRE International. In 2019, Chelsey was named Outstanding Professional Fundraiser by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Silicon Valley Chapter.
