The Parent Venture: Eating Disorders and Body Image - What Should Parents Know?
The pandemic helped raise awareness about the widespread problem of eating disorders in youth. These disorders affect adolescents from a wide range of ethnicities and social classes, and can occur in girls as well as boys. According to the Society for Adolescent Medicine, eating disorders such as anorexia are the third most chronic illness in adolescent females.
In this webinar, Avery Carter M. Walker, PsyD, a postdoctoral fellow at the Child & Adolescent Eating Disorders Clinic, Stanford Children's Health, will address eating disorders and body image in youth.
This event is sponsored by Sequoia Healthcare District, Sequoia Union High School District, Peninsula Health Care District, and The Parent Venture.
