Menlo Park Community: Wildfire Risk and Preparedness

Menlo Park Community (MPC) Ready invites the public to its upcoming meeting for a wildfire risk and preparedness talk. Menlo Park Fire Protection District Division Chief, Jon Johnston, will provide an overview of the types of wildfire risks to our community and proactive ways to prepare. Chief Johnston has 20+ years of fire prevention, risk reduction, and hazard mitigation experience with the MPFPD. His role includes overseeing the new Community Resilience Unit, which includes fire investigation, fire prevention, CERT training, and public education.

The meeting will include a brief update on MPC Ready’s efforts to develop and roll out a program focused on helping interested residents organize Firewise USA communities.

Note: This meeting is family-friendly and will include refreshments, a raffle, and a disaster prep-themed activity book for kids.
