Single Use Plastics: Reduction Challenges and Actions
Ready to reduce & rethink single-use-plastics in SMC?
Single use plastics are poisoning species, packing landfills, and invading our bloodstream. Pervasive across the County, country, oceans, and seashores, plastics are also warming our climate. We will have small group discussions guided by experts and then report out to the larger group in order to compile action plans. Questions for discussion:
What’s the problem?
What action can we take?
Where should we focus our efforts?
Conversations guided by representatives from: Byrd’s Filling Station, Heirs to Our Oceans, SMC Office of Sustainability, Sea Hugger, SUPPER, Youth Climate Action Network.
Get involved in a short-term study of SMC-wide ‘reduce & rethink single-use-plastics’ challenges and next steps.
Optional networking from 5:00 - 5:30 pm.
Appetizers will be provided.
