Community Meeting: What Would Help Reduce Risks From Flooding, Extreme Heat, Pandemic, Wildfire/Smoke, Drought and Other Hazards in Your Community?

Community Meeting: What Would Help Reduce Risks From Flooding, Extreme Heat, Pandemic, Wildfire/Smoke, Drought and Other Hazards in Your Community?

The County of San Mateo, the Cities of East Palo Alto and Menlo Park, and Climate Resilient Communities invite residents of North Fair Oaks, Belle Haven, and East Palo Alto to attend a community consultation meeting. The County and Cities are undergoing a planning effort to reduce risks from hazards, through the Multijurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan update, and they want to hear from you! They would like your input about what you need in your community to reduce risks from hazards: more cooling/clean air centers for heat and wildfire smoke, more trees, earthquake retrofits, or more solutions for flooding? What do YOU think should be addressed in the hazard mitigation plan updates? Your participation is valuable, and an essential part of this process focused on protecting communities and families from hazards.

Note: Please register no later than Mon, June 21, 5:00 pm. A $50 gift card is available to compensate your time at the meeting.
